The TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference

The TELEMAC-MASCARET user conference takes place usually during autumn, on an annual basis. This seminar, quite informal, aims at providing:

UserClubPresentation2

  • The opportunity for the end-users to discuss with key representatives of the developer and distribution teams;
  • The opportunity for the developer teams to present latest advances and strategic plans;
  • The opportunity for end-users to discuss performance of new versions and features, have a say on ongoing developments; and
  • The opportunity for end-users to present their own work, to share their experiences and get feedback on best practices.

The outcome of previous TELEMAC User meetings is available through the menu to the right. These include the agenda and the presentations made by all during the seminars.

XXVIIth TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference (2)

Again, IMDC is proud to organise the 2021 TELEMAC User conference in Antwerp

Last year the TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current evolution of the COVID-pandemic and the ongoing vaccination programs provides us hope that, this year, the XXVIIth TUC can be organised as planned, on Thursday October 14th and Friday 15th 2021 in Antwerp Belgium, with a pre-conference workshop on Wednesday October 13th. The final decision whether the TUC will go ahead will be taken on June 25th 2021, taking into account the development of the pandemic as well as the government regulations regarding the organization of these kind of events and quarantine free travel to and from Belgium.

In order to organize a successful TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference, please submit your abstract for the conference by Friday July 2th 2021.
More information is available at the conference website at www.tuc2020.org. We sincerely hope to be able to meet you all in person in Antwerp in October.

On behalf of the local organizing committee,

Alexander Breugem

As usual, the call for abstract is on the conference themes:

  • River and urban floods, flood forecasting and management
  • Coastal surges, tsunami waves and extreme events
  • River, estuaries, maritime, coastal sediment processes
  • Waterworks, coastal structures design and sustainability
  • Waves, tidal renewable and hydro power energy assessment
  • Water quality, biodiversity, ecology and environmental pollution (e.g. plastics)
  • Numerical methods, code coupling and high-performance computing
  • Data assimilation, optimization, risks and uncertainties

XXVIIth TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary to postpone the TELEMAC-MASCARET user Conference to October 2021.

Instead, a TELEMAC-MASCARET Webinar was organized.

This webinar took place on Thursday October 15th 14h00 to 16h30 (GMT+2, i.e. local time in Belgium, France and Germany), available too al free of charge.

The program covered:

  • Welcome from the president of the TELEMAC-MASCARET consortium
  • Introduction to the webinar
  • Presentation of latest developments v8p2 for TELEMAC & MASCARET
  • Overview of the abstracts and papers submitted for TUC 2020

XXVth TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference

The XXVth TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference has been a success. It was hosted by Cefas/CCSUS on 9th to 11th October 2018 in Norwich (UK). A website was put in place for registration and venue details: http://telemac2018.org.uk/

In reaching its quarter century anniversary, the Telemac-Mascaret User Conference has proved
crucial in bringing together an international group of engineers, scientists and hydrodynamicists to share best practise and ideas for the development of this unique hydro-informatics software system.

All users, (scientists, engineers, researchers and students) were invited to attend or participate as speakers. Conference proceedings have now been published and are available here: proceedings 2018.

Finally, do not forget that individual articles from all proceedings can be searched and downloaded through the HENRY portal (Hydraulic Engineering Repository): henry.baw.de

XXVIth TELEMAC-MASCARET User Conference

We look forward to welcoming you to the 26th annual Telemac-Mascaret Users conference in Toulouse, France, October, 15th-17th, 2019

The conference is organised by the European Center for Advanced Research and Training for Computational Science (CERFACS), Toulouse, France.

The conference will be held on the Météo-France campus, in the conference room CIC.

The conference will start with a one-day technical workshop, held on October 15th 2019, followed by a two-day conference on October 16-17th. A gala diner will take place on the 16th evening for delegates and guests.

  • The Telemac-Mascaret User Conference has proved crucial in bringing together an international group of engineers, scientists and hydrodynamicists to share best practise and ideas for the development of this unique hydro-informatics software system. What started as a small group of mostly developers at a workshop in Paris, in 1994, has grown into a successful annual event which attracts delegates from several continents.
  • The software has developed strongly, particularly since the adoption of the GNU Opensource platform in 2010 and new tasks in the marine and fluvial domains to which the Telemac-Mascaret system can be applied, are multitudinous. Advances in the capability of the system now encompass biogeochemical processes as well as physical, extending the system to ecosystem modellers from a wide range of scientific disciplines, as well as more traditional hydrodynamic modellers.
